Lily Hsiao, BA

In 2022, Lily graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with BA in Philosophy, minor in Chemistry, and certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. She worked at the Center for Research on Media, Technology, and Health since January 2020, where she contributed to numerous research projects related to social media and health. At the NEAR Lab, Lily focused on developing the NEAR-FAR resources, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings. Lily presented this work at the Society of Behavioral Medicine and co-authored the subsequent manuscript. She also worked on projects related to identifying and characterizing types of social support observed in online recovery support communities, resulting in conference posters and co-authorship on a 2023 publication in Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research.
